Dental Crowns & Bridges

Dental crowns are individual restorations that are designed to cover a single tooth while preserving the healthy structure that remains underneath; they’re recommended in a variety of circumstances, including:

Another important function of a dental crown is an “anchor” that keeps a dental bridge securely positioned within a patient’s mouth. Bridges are tooth replacements that are designed to literally “bridge” a gap left by consecutive missing teeth, and they have to be held in place by dental crowns that are fitted over natural teeth on either side of the gap. Dental bridges are essentially permanent, and patients who have them will no longer need to worry about their remaining teeth shifting out of place over time because of the loss.

Many teeth treated with root canal therapy go on to last for the rest of the patient’s life!

Extractions

Although Dr. Rapport will do everything in her power to help you keep your original teeth safe and strong, the need for extraction can be an unfortunate reality sometimes. Maybe you’ve badly damaged a tooth that cannot be saved, or you’re in need of orthodontic treatment and certain teeth must be removed from the mouth to make room.
